It depends on your volume and preferences. Helcim offers the lowest rates with interchange-plus pricing (averaging ~1.8%), making it ideal for salons processing $5,000+ per month. Square offers simple flat-rate pricing (2.6% + $0.10) with no monthly fees. Stripe offers flexible pricing (2.7% + $0.05) and is great for tech-savvy owners. All three integrate seamlessly with Tilavon.
Yes! Tilavon has native apps for iPad and Android tablets, and also works in the browser as a backup. Many salons use a tablet at the front desk for checkout and a second tablet as a check-in kiosk.
They're optional. Many modern salons go paperless with digital receipts sent via email or SMS. If you do handle cash or prefer paper receipts, we recommend standard USB receipt printers and printer-triggered cash drawers — both widely available and affordable.
