Salon Profile

Your salon profile is the foundation of your Tilavon setup. This information appears on receipts, booking pages, and client communications.

Basic Information

Navigate to Settings > Salon Profile to update your salon name, address, phone number, and email. This information is used across the platform — on receipts, online booking pages, appointment confirmations, and your public profile.

Logo & Branding

Upload your salon logo in Settings > Salon Profile > Branding. The logo appears on your online booking page, receipt headers, email communications, and the client-facing kiosk. Supported formats are PNG, JPG, and SVG with a recommended size of 500x500 pixels.

Salon Description

Write a brief description of your salon that appears on your public booking page. Highlight your specialties, atmosphere, and what makes your salon unique. This helps attract new clients through online booking.

Business Hours & Holiday Schedules

Set your regular operating hours and manage holiday closures so your online booking and staff scheduling stay accurate.

Setting Regular Hours

Go to Settings > Business Hours. Set your opening and closing times for each day of the week. You can set different hours for each day — for example, closing early on Sundays or opening late on Mondays. Changes take effect immediately on your booking page.

Holiday Schedules

Navigate to Settings > Business Hours > Holidays. Add closure dates for holidays, renovation days, or special events. Choose between full-day closures and modified hours. Clients attempting to book on a holiday see an automatic message explaining the closure.

Special Hours

Set temporary hour changes for seasonal adjustments or special events. For example, extend hours during prom season or reduce hours during a slow January week. Special hours override regular hours for the specified dates.

Scheduling Tip

Set your business hours before inviting staff members. Individual staff schedules can be shorter than business hours, but not longer. This ensures clients can only book during your actual operating window.

Notification Preferences

Control how and when you and your team receive alerts about appointments, payments, reviews, and system events.

Notification Channels

Tilavon supports notifications via email, SMS, and in-app push notifications. Configure each channel independently in Settings > Notifications. You can enable all three for critical alerts (like new bookings) and limit non-urgent updates to email only.

Appointment Notifications

Customize appointment reminders sent to clients: set the timing (24 hours before, 2 hours before, or both), the message template, and whether to include a confirmation link. Staff notifications for new, modified, and cancelled appointments are configured separately.

Business Alerts

Receive alerts for daily revenue summaries, new client registrations, low inventory warnings, new online reviews, and payment processing issues. Toggle each alert type on or off in Settings > Notifications > Business Alerts.

Tax Settings

Configure sales tax rates for your jurisdiction to ensure accurate pricing on services, products, and checkout totals.

Setting Tax Rates

Go to Settings > Tax to set your default sales tax rate. Enter your state and local tax rates — Tilavon calculates the combined rate automatically. If your jurisdiction has different rates for services and retail products, set each separately.

Tax Exemptions

Mark specific services or products as tax-exempt if required by your local tax law. In the service or product editor, toggle "Tax Exempt" to exclude the item from tax calculations at checkout.

Tax Reports

Tilavon generates detailed tax reports in Reports > Tax Summary. View collected tax by period, category, and tax rate. Export the report for your accountant or for filing sales tax returns.

Tipping Configuration

Customize the tipping experience for your salon, from suggested percentages to tip distribution methods.

Tip Presets

Set suggested tip percentages that appear on the checkout screen. The default presets are 15%, 20%, and 25%, but you can customize these in Settings > Payments > Tipping. You can also add a custom amount option and a no-tip button.

Tip Distribution

Configure how tips are distributed among staff. Options include assigning tips to the primary technician, splitting tips among all service providers on a ticket, or pooling tips for daily distribution. Set your policy in Settings > Payments > Tip Distribution.

Tip Reporting

All tips are tracked and reported separately from service revenue. View tip totals by staff member, by day, or by payment method in Reports > Tip Summary. This data is also synced to your connected accounting software.

Receipt Customization

Design professional receipts that reinforce your brand and include all the information your clients need.

Receipt Header

Customize the receipt header in Settings > Hardware > Receipt Template. Include your salon logo, business name, address, phone number, and website. The header prints at the top of every receipt.

Receipt Footer

Add a custom footer message that prints at the bottom of every receipt. Common uses include a thank-you message, your cancellation policy, a rebooking reminder, or a promotion code for the client's next visit.

Receipt Content

Configure which details appear on receipts: individual service line items, product purchases, tax breakdown, tip amount, payment method, and loyalty points earned. Toggle each element on or off in the receipt template editor.

User Account Settings

Manage your personal account details, login credentials, and display preferences.

Profile Information

Update your name, email, phone number, and profile photo in My Profile > Account Settings. Your email address is used for login, password resets, and system notifications.

Changing Your Password

Change your password in My Profile > Security > Change Password. Enter your current password and choose a new one. Passwords must be at least 12 characters and include a mix of letters, numbers, and symbols.

Display Preferences

Set your preferred date format, time format (12-hour or 24-hour), timezone, and default dashboard view in My Profile > Preferences. These settings affect only your account — other team members have their own preferences.

Security Settings

Protect your salon data with two-factor authentication, session management, and access controls.

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Enable 2FA in My Profile > Security > Two-Factor Authentication. Scan the QR code with an authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy, or similar). Once enabled, you'll enter a 6-digit code from the app each time you sign in.

Active Sessions

View all devices currently signed in to your account in My Profile > Security > Active Sessions. If you see an unfamiliar device, click "Sign Out" next to it. You can also sign out of all sessions at once.

Role-Based Access

Assign roles to team members (Owner, Manager, Technician, Front Desk) in Settings > Team. Each role has predefined permissions — for example, only Owners and Managers can view revenue reports and modify business settings.

Language Preferences

Tilavon supports multiple languages for both the management dashboard and client-facing interfaces.

Dashboard Language

Change your dashboard language in My Profile > Preferences > Language. Available languages include English, Spanish, Vietnamese, and Chinese. The entire interface — menus, buttons, reports, and help text — switches to your selected language.

Client-Facing Language

Configure the default language for client-facing pages (online booking, appointment confirmations, reminders) in Settings > Salon Profile > Language. Clients can also switch languages on the booking page and kiosk.

Multilingual Teams

Each staff member can set their own dashboard language independently. This is especially useful for multilingual teams where some staff prefer English and others prefer Vietnamese or Spanish.
