Bring your own devices and payment terminals. Tilavon works with the hardware you already have — no proprietary equipment, no vendor lock-in.

Bring Your Own Device (BYOD)

Unlike traditional salon software that forces you to buy proprietary hardware, Tilavon works with standard, widely-available devices. Use what you already own or shop for the best deals on your own terms.

Our BYOD Philosophy

We believe you should never be locked into a single hardware vendor. Tilavon has native apps for Mac, Windows, iPad, and Android, with browser access as a backup — so it runs on any device you already own.

Using Existing Equipment

If you already have a payment terminal from Stripe, Square, or SumUp, you can connect it to Tilavon immediately. No need to return equipment or break existing processing contracts.

Cost Savings Tip

By choosing your own hardware, salon owners save an average of $500-$1,500 compared to proprietary POS bundles. You also avoid monthly hardware rental fees.

Compatible Payment Terminals

Tilavon integrates with three major payment processors, each offering reliable card-present terminals for in-salon payments.

Stripe Terminal

The Stripe Reader S700 and BBPOS WisePOS E are fully supported. Connect via Wi-Fi or ethernet. Stripe offers transparent per-transaction pricing with no monthly terminal fees. Set up in Settings > Payments > Stripe and follow the guided pairing process.

Square Terminal

Square Terminal and Square Reader work seamlessly with Tilavon. Square's all-in-one terminal includes a built-in receipt printer and accepts tap, chip, and swipe payments. Connect your existing Square account in Settings > Payments > Square.

SumUp Terminal

SumUp Air and SumUp Solo terminals are supported for affordable card processing. SumUp is popular for its low flat-rate pricing and no monthly fees. Link your SumUp account in Settings > Payments > SumUp.

Choosing a Processor

Compare processing rates across all three providers for your expected transaction volume. Stripe typically offers the best rates for high-volume salons, while SumUp is ideal for lower-volume businesses with its zero monthly fees.

Receipt Printer Setup

Print professional receipts for every transaction. Tilavon supports standard thermal receipt printers that connect via USB, Bluetooth, or network.

Compatible Printers

Any ESC/POS compatible thermal receipt printer works with Tilavon. Popular models include the Epson TM-T20III, Star Micronics TSP143IV, and Star SM-L200. Both 58mm and 80mm paper widths are supported.

Setup Steps

Connect your printer to the same network as your POS device. In Tilavon, go to Settings > Hardware > Receipt Printer. Click "Detect Printers" to automatically find network printers, or enter the printer's IP address manually. Print a test receipt to confirm the connection.

Customizing Receipts

Customize your receipt layout in Settings > Hardware > Receipt Template. Add your salon logo, business information, return policy, and a custom footer message. You can also include appointment rebooking reminders and loyalty points balance.

Cash Drawer Configuration

Manage cash payments with an automated cash drawer that opens at the right moment during checkout.

Connecting a Cash Drawer

Most cash drawers connect through your receipt printer via an RJ11 cable. Plug the drawer cable into the port on the back of your receipt printer. When a cash payment is processed in Tilavon, the drawer opens automatically.

Cash Management

Track your cash drawer balance throughout the day in the POS dashboard. Run cash-out reports at shift end to reconcile the drawer. The system logs every open/close event with the associated transaction and staff member.

Barcode Scanner Support

Speed up retail product sales and inventory management with barcode scanning.

Compatible Scanners

Tilavon works with any USB or Bluetooth barcode scanner that operates in keyboard-emulation mode (HID). Popular options include the Tera HW0002 and Inateck BCST-73. Simply plug in a USB scanner or pair a Bluetooth scanner — no drivers or software needed.

Using the Scanner

At checkout, click the product field and scan a product barcode. Tilavon instantly looks up the product, adds it to the ticket, and applies the correct price. In inventory mode, scan products to quickly update stock counts or receive shipments.

Network Requirements

A reliable network is the foundation of your salon's technology setup. Here is what you need for smooth operations.

Internet Connection

A minimum of 25 Mbps download speed is recommended for a salon with up to 10 connected devices. If you stream music or video in the salon, consider 50 Mbps or higher.

Wi-Fi Setup

Use a business-grade Wi-Fi router with dual-band support (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz). Connect POS devices and payment terminals to the 5 GHz band for faster, more reliable performance. Set up a separate guest network for client Wi-Fi.

Network Tip

Place your Wi-Fi router centrally in the salon and away from large metal objects or appliances that can interfere with the signal. If your salon is large, consider a mesh Wi-Fi system for consistent coverage.
