Revenue Reports
Revenue reports give you a clear picture of your salon's financial performance. Tilavon automatically tracks every transaction and presents it in easy-to-read dashboards, charts, and tables. Access reports from the Reports tab in the main navigation.
Daily Revenue Summary
The Daily Revenue report shows total revenue for the current day (or any selected day) broken down by service revenue, product sales, and tips. It includes the number of transactions, average ticket value, and comparison to the same day last week. Check this report at closing time for a quick snapshot of the day's performance.
Weekly Revenue Report
The Weekly Revenue report aggregates daily totals into a 7-day view. It highlights your busiest and slowest days, shows revenue trends day by day, and compares the week to the previous week. Use this to optimize staffing schedules and identify patterns.
Monthly Revenue Report
The Monthly Revenue report provides a comprehensive view including total revenue, revenue by service category, revenue by technician, month-over-month growth percentage, and year-over-year comparison. This is the report most salon owners review for business planning.
Pro Tip: Review Weekly
Set a recurring weekly time to review your revenue reports. Look for trends rather than individual days — a slow Tuesday is normal, but three consecutive slow Tuesdays may signal a scheduling or staffing issue worth addressing.
Staff Performance Reports
Understanding individual staff performance helps you identify your top performers, coach those who need support, and make informed compensation decisions. The Staff Performance report is available in Reports > Staff.
Revenue Per Technician
See how much revenue each technician generates over the selected period. This includes service revenue, add-on sales, and product sales attributed to each tech. Sort by total revenue to quickly identify your highest earners.
Appointment Count
Track the number of appointments each technician completes. This helps you understand capacity utilization — if a tech has fewer appointments but comparable revenue, they may be performing higher-value services.
Average Ticket Value
Average ticket value shows the mean revenue per appointment for each technician. Techs with higher average tickets are effectively upselling services and products. Use this metric to identify upselling opportunities for your team.
Client Retention Rate
See what percentage of each technician's clients return for a follow-up visit within 90 days. High retention indicates strong client relationships and service quality. This is one of the most important metrics for long-term salon success.
Product Sales
Track retail product sales attributed to each technician. This helps you understand which team members are effectively recommending products and can inform commission structures or bonus programs.
Client Retention Analytics
Acquiring a new client costs 5-7x more than retaining an existing one. Tilavon's retention analytics help you understand client loyalty patterns and take action before clients slip away.
Overall Retention Rate
Your retention rate is the percentage of clients who return within a defined period (default: 90 days). The dashboard shows your current rate, trend over time, and comparison to the industry average. A healthy salon retention rate is 60-70%.
Visit Frequency
Track the average number of days between visits for your client base. This metric is broken down by service type — nail clients may visit every 2-3 weeks, while spa clients visit monthly. Understanding frequency helps you time your marketing messages perfectly.
At-Risk Clients
Tilavon automatically identifies clients who are overdue for a visit based on their individual visit pattern. If a client typically visits every 3 weeks and hasn't booked in 5 weeks, they're flagged as at-risk. Use the at-risk list to trigger win-back campaigns or personal outreach.
New vs. Returning Clients
See the ratio of new clients to returning clients over any time period. A healthy salon should have a steady stream of new clients while maintaining strong returning client numbers. If new client acquisition drops, it may be time to boost your marketing efforts.
Pro Tip: Act on At-Risk Alerts
Review the at-risk client list weekly and take immediate action. A personal text message from the salon owner to an at-risk VIP client is far more effective than an automated campaign. Reserve automation for lower-value at-risk clients.
Service Popularity Reports
Understanding which services are most popular — and most profitable — helps you make smart decisions about your menu, pricing, and marketing. The Service Popularity report is available in Reports > Services.
Service Ranking
Services are ranked by booking count and revenue. See your top 10 services at a glance, along with the percentage of total revenue each service represents. Use this to identify your bread-and-butter services versus your premium offerings.
Revenue Per Service
Compare the revenue generated by each service, factoring in both the number of bookings and the service price. A service with fewer bookings but higher prices may generate more revenue than a frequently booked but lower-priced service.
Trend Analysis
Track service popularity trends over weeks and months. See which services are growing in demand and which are declining. This data is invaluable when deciding which services to promote, which to add, and which to phase out.
Payment Method Breakdowns
Payment method data helps you optimize your checkout process, plan for cash handling needs, and understand client payment preferences. Access this report in Reports > Payments.
Payment Method Distribution
See the percentage of transactions by payment method: credit/debit card, cash, gift card, loyalty points, and other methods. The trend chart shows how payment preferences are shifting over time. Most salons see a steady increase in card payments.
Tip Reports
Track total tips by payment method and by technician. See average tip percentage, tip trends over time, and how tips vary between cash and card payments. This data is essential for accurate payroll and commission calculations.
Refund Tracking
Monitor refund volume, frequency, and reasons. High refund rates for specific services or technicians may indicate a service quality issue. The refund report includes the reason for each refund and the staff member who processed it.
Appointment Analytics
Appointment analytics reveal patterns in how clients book and when they visit. Use these insights to optimize your schedule, reduce gaps, and maximize your salon's capacity.
Booking Source Analysis
See where your bookings come from: online booking widget, client app, phone calls, walk-ins, or social media. Understanding your booking channels helps you invest in the right acquisition strategies and optimize the booking experience.
Peak Hours & Days
The heat map visualization shows your busiest hours and days of the week. Use this to schedule your strongest technicians during peak times, plan marketing campaigns for slow periods, and set appropriate staffing levels throughout the week.
No-Show & Cancellation Rates
Track your no-show and late cancellation rates over time, broken down by day of week, service type, and whether the client is new or returning. See the impact of automated reminders on reducing no-shows compared to the period before you enabled them.
Custom Date Ranges
Every report in Tilavon supports custom date ranges so you can analyze exactly the period you need, whether it's a specific week, a holiday season, or a quarterly review.
Quick Presets
Use the date range dropdown to select common presets: Today, Yesterday, This Week, Last Week, This Month, Last Month, This Quarter, Last Quarter, This Year, and Last Year. Presets adjust automatically based on the current date.
Custom Range Selection
Click Custom Range to pick any start and end date using the calendar picker. You can also type dates directly for quick entry. Tilavon remembers your last custom range for convenience.
Period-Over-Period Comparison
Toggle on Compare to Previous Period to see your data alongside the equivalent previous period. For example, comparing this month to last month, or this quarter to the same quarter last year. Percentage changes are highlighted in green (improvement) or red (decline).
Exporting Reports
Sometimes you need your data outside of Tilavon — for your accountant, a business partner, or your own spreadsheet analysis. Every report in Tilavon can be exported with one click.
CSV Export
Click the Export button on any report and select CSV. The exported file includes all visible data columns plus additional detail fields. Open the CSV in Excel, Google Sheets, or any spreadsheet application for further analysis, pivot tables, or custom calculations.
PDF Export
Select PDF for a formatted, print-ready version of the report. PDF exports include charts, tables, and your salon logo. These are ideal for sharing with business partners, landlords, or loan officers who need professional financial documentation.
Pro Tip: Automate Your Exports
Instead of manually exporting reports, set up scheduled reports (see next section) to have them emailed to you automatically on a regular basis. This saves time and ensures you never miss your regular review.
