Your Complete Service Menu in Minutes
A well-organized service menu drives more bookings, reduces confusion at checkout, and helps technicians stay on schedule.
Creating Service Categories
Organize services into logical groups for easy navigation.
Adding Services
Define each service with name, price, duration, and description.
Service Variations & Add-Ons
Offer size options, upgrades, and optional extras.
Assigning Services to Technicians
Control which technicians appear for each service during booking.
Creating Service Categories
Categories give your service menu structure. Clients see them when booking online, and your team uses them to find services quickly at the POS.
Create a Category
Go to Settings then Services and click Add Category. Enter a name such as Manicures, Pedicures, Waxing, or Enhancements. Each category holds the individual services within it.
Reorder Categories
Drag and drop categories to set the display order. The order you set here is the order clients see when booking online and the order staff see on the POS service selector.
Toggle Visibility
Hide a category temporarily if you are not currently offering those services. Hidden categories do not appear in online booking or the POS but their data is preserved.
Naming Best Practices
Use clear, client-friendly names. Avoid internal jargon. For example, use Gel Manicures instead of Gel Mani or GM. Clients searching online should immediately understand what each category contains.
Tip
Most nail salons use 4 to 6 categories. Too many categories can overwhelm clients during booking. Group similar services together and use add-ons for optional extras.
Adding Services
Each service in your menu needs a name, base price, and estimated duration. These three fields power your booking calendar, checkout, and reporting.
Service Name
Choose a descriptive name that clients understand. For example, Classic Pedicure, Gel Manicure with Removal, or Luxury Spa Pedicure. The name appears on the booking page, receipts, and reports.
Price & Duration
Set the base price and the time the service takes in minutes. Tilavon uses the duration to block the correct amount of time on the technician's calendar. If a service takes longer for some technicians, you can override duration at the staff level.
Description
Add an optional description that appears on your online booking page. Describe what is included, the products used, or who the service is best suited for. A good description helps clients choose the right service and reduces questions.
Service Variations & Add-Ons
Variations let you offer different versions of the same service, while add-ons are optional extras clients can tack on during booking or at checkout.
Variations
Create variations for services that come in different sizes or levels. For example, a Regular Pedicure and a Deluxe Pedicure can be variations of the same base service, each with its own price and duration.
Add-On Services
Add-ons are optional extras like gel removal, nail art, paraffin dip, or hot stone upgrade. Create each add-on with a name, price, and additional duration. Attach add-ons to specific parent services or make them available for any service.
Tip
Keep add-on names short and prices visible. Clients are more likely to select an add-on when they can quickly see the price without clicking into a details page.
Assigning Services to Technicians
Service assignment ensures that clients always book with a technician who is trained and qualified for the service they want.
Per-Service Assignment
Open a service, go to the Technicians tab, and check the box next to each technician who performs this service. Only checked technicians appear in the booking flow for this service.
Bulk Assignment
To assign all services in a category to a technician at once, open the technician's profile and use the Assign by Category shortcut. This saves time when onboarding a new team member who performs most or all of your services.
How It Affects Booking
When a client selects a service during online booking, the technician picker only shows staff who have that service assigned. If the client selects Any Technician, Tilavon picks from the pool of qualified technicians based on availability.
Service Pricing Tiers
Pricing tiers let senior technicians charge more for the same service without maintaining duplicate service entries in your menu.
Create Pricing Tiers
Go to Settings then Pricing Tiers and create tiers such as Junior, Senior, and Master. You can name them anything that fits your salon's branding.
Assign Technicians to Tiers
In each technician's profile, select their pricing tier. This links their profile to the correct price level for every service that uses tier-based pricing.
Set Per-Tier Prices
Open a service and enter a price for each active tier. For example, a Gel Manicure might be $35 for Junior, $45 for Senior, and $55 for Master. The correct price is applied automatically at checkout based on the assigned technician.
Online Booking Display
Your online booking page is often the first impression clients have of your salon. A clean, well-organized menu encourages bookings.
Menu Layout
Services appear on your booking page grouped by category in the order you set. Each service shows its name, price (or price range if using tiers), duration, and description. Clients can filter by category to find what they need quickly.
Hide Walk-In Only Services
Some services are only available in person, like quick fixes or emergency repairs. Mark these as Walk-In Only so they do not appear in online booking but remain available at the POS for front desk use.
Tip
Add a short description to your most popular services. Services with descriptions get booked more often because clients feel confident they are choosing the right option.
Service Bundles
Bundles encourage clients to book more services in a single visit by offering a combined price that is lower than booking each service separately.
Create a Bundle
Go to Settings then Services and click Add Bundle. Select the services to include, set a bundle price, and enter a total duration. The bundle appears as its own item in the service menu alongside individual services.
Bundle Discount Display
Tilavon shows the original combined price crossed out next to the bundle price so clients can see their savings. For example, Mani-Pedi Bundle at $55 with the original $65 crossed out.
Seasonal & Promotional Pricing
Adjust pricing for holidays, slow seasons, or special events without permanently changing your base prices.
Seasonal Pricing
Create a promotional price with a start and end date. During the promotion period, the discounted price appears online and at the POS. When the promotion expires, the original price returns automatically.
Discount Codes
Generate discount codes that clients enter during online booking for a dollar-off or percentage-off deal. Track how many times each code is used and the total revenue impact in the Promotions report.
Bulk Price Updates
Need to raise prices across the board? Use the Bulk Pricing tool to apply a percentage increase or flat dollar increase to an entire category or all services at once. Preview the changes before saving.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I organize my service menu?
Tilavon lets you create categories like Manicures, Pedicures, Waxing, and Enhancements. Within each category you add individual services. Categories control the order clients see when booking online and how the menu displays on receipts and the POS.
Can I set different prices for different technicians?
Yes. Tilavon supports pricing tiers such as Junior, Senior, and Master. Each technician is assigned a tier, and each service can have a different price per tier. This lets experienced technicians charge premium rates automatically.
How do add-on services work?
Add-ons are optional extras that clients can select during booking or at checkout, such as gel removal, nail art, or a paraffin treatment. You configure each add-on with a name, price, and duration. Add-ons are attached to a parent service and added to the ticket.
Can clients see service descriptions when booking?
Yes. Every service has an optional description field that appears on your online booking page. Use it to explain what is included, the products used, or who the service is recommended for so clients book the right option.
How do I update pricing for multiple services?
Use the Bulk Pricing tool in Settings to apply a percentage or flat-dollar increase across an entire category or all services at once. Preview the changes before saving so you can verify the new prices.
